Curriculum Vitae
Franz Hirtenfelder received an engineering degree from the Technical University of Graz, Austria, in 1983. His thesis was titled "Generation of Finite Element Software for Eddy Current Field Problems".
He worked as a developement engineer with Kathrein-KG in Rosenheim, Germany, where he applied method of moment computer codes for UHF and VHF antenna design.
He also had a position of scientific collaborator with the Radar/ HF Departement of the IABG at Ottobunn, Germany, where he developed software for prediction of radar cross sections of military equipment.
From 1990 to 1997 he worked for the MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation's office in Munich, Germany as a Technical Consultant where he supported and applied electromagnetic finite element software, also coordinating pan european support.
For the past several years (1997 - 1999) he worked at the Ansoft Corporation 's office in Munich, Germany as a Senior Consultant Engineer where he supported all Ansoft EDA products pan european.
He is currently working as a Senior Application Engineer/Principal Engineer at the CST AG, Darmstadt, Germany and his primary responsibilities are -providing technical support for users of CST products in the field of low and high frequency electromagnetics -developing and teaching special taylored training classes in electromagnetics modeling. -giving CST product demonstrations at seminars, workshops, conferences, and meetings with customers and prospects. He has authored or coauthored a number of papers and articles in computational electromagnetics.
